TOMORROWS THURSDAYS 5-31 TRIP IS CANCELLED

SEA HUNTER 5-30 STRIPER REPORT

What a disappointment . I was really looking forward to today as I am sure the guys on the boat were as well, after hearing what went on yesterday.  The problem was nobody could find the stripers today. We did find plenty of sand sharks  . From what I heard there were lots of boats without a Striper, they just were not eating. We were one of the lucky ones I guess, we had two and I heard of another charter boat who was trolling also had two. . If you plan on coming tomorrow or Friday for our last two morning striper trips give me a call, so I can make sure we have enough guys and maybe save you a trip down if there is not. Saturday we start daily Fluke fishing from 8am till 2pm 7 days a week throughout the summer. I will post when we do our afternoon live lining trips, as of now that fishing  it is not consistent enough but should be almost time hopefully by next week.                                     See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 5-29 REPORt. Last Call For Stripers

Well the bad news is we only had two people today. The other bad news is the big stripers were all over the top today feeding on the bunker and we weren't there. I had the live well on the boat ready to go today, knowing with the full moon we had a good chance for those fish to be around . We will finish out this week with the stripers then make the switch to Fluke on Saturday. Remember our new Fluke schedule is 8am till 2pm. We should be starting our afternoon live lining trips next week. They will be from 2:30 till dark. I am trying to get my bunker connection set up so we will have the  bait when we leave the dock, this way we don't have to go looking for the bunker and  snagging them. I'm not sure what days yet those trips will be  I am thinking Wednesday and Thursday. I will check the weather and make my decision. next week. I will post Monday night and let you know what days. Remember those trips are limited to 20 people and you will have to buy your ticket on my web site. Last season those trips sold out quick. I know we will be going out tomorrow morning for the stripers, be ready for anything. Live bait, shads ,clams, bunker chunks, See you soon, Capt. Rob  .

SEA HUNTER 5-28 STRIPER REPORT

I really thought we were going to have a good day. I found some very good readings and anchored up. The bad thing was we were on slack tide, We had a 20lb fish on the deck within 10 minutes then another one on and lost it. I waited for the current to run and figured the stripers would turn on, but no such luck. They swam off someplace but I couldn't find them again. I had a report of fish splashing so we went to investigate, but they were small blues. We played with the blues for a bit, then went back for the stripers. We boated one more striper and lost two others. We will be back at it tomorrow. If you are coming be ready for anything. I may try down the beach so bring something you can snag bunkers with, a rod you can cast.  See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 5-26 STRIPER REPORT

Sorry for the late report but I had someplace to be at 3:30 and just walked in the door. It was slow fishing today. The fish popped up for a very short time today, we landed a couple fish on the shads but then they just shut down and would not eat. We ended up with a couple more on bait later in the day but that was it. I'm looking at tomorrows weather and they are calling for east winds with gusts to 30. If we had wind and tide together I would say come on down, Unfortunately its going to be wind against the tide and that's gonna make it nasty. We will probably lay side to the sea and roll our #@#%  off.. I know a few of you had bought tickets in advance I would let you use them on another trip if you would like or I can refund your money. You can give me a call tonight and let me know what you would like to do. They may change the forecast later, originally it was gusts to 25 knots now its  gusts to30 knots . My advise as of now is to stay home. If they change it later and downgrade it if that's the case, I will post it later.
Thanks for checking in, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 5-25 STRIPER REPORT

The past couple days has been on the slower side. We have a full moon coming up this week so I am hoping it puts those big fish on the move and they find all the bunker in the area .and we can have some fun with the big ones. We will be sticking with the Stripers during the day, at least for this week. If I'm catching Stripers I will stay with it as long as I can before switching to Fluke. This year we are going to do something different for our Fluke schedule.. We will no longer be doing Half Day. we are doing one trip a day from 8am until 2 pm the price will be $55.00. Here is some pics from today . The  pool winner was caught by Jon Keidel all the wat from Aston PA The Striper went 27 lbs. I have been getting calls from people  about when we will be starting our Special afternoon live lining trips . the answer is as soon as they arrive I will post it. my daughter made a special banner that will goes across my home page on the web site. You wont be able to miss it . Hopefully it will be soon.We will be back out there tomorrow hunting down those stripers.. See you then, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 5-23 STRIPER REPORT

I have no complaints at all with the striper fishing. It looks like its going to hold up for a while. There are lots of nice size fish in the area. The pol winner today was in the mid to high 20lb mark. We lost more fish then we should have today but that's the way it goes. We will not be switching to Fluke on Friday I will stick with the Stripers for as long as I can. I will be doing the afternoon live lining trips from 2:30 till dark probably the first week in June. Keep checking the web site  and I will let you know Here is some of todays catch some . See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 5-22

As you can see we have a new web site. My daughter actually made it for me .My opinion she did a great job. I was impressed. The weatherman got us today, the harbor was like a ghost town. I was actually shocked with the good striper fishing and some nice big fish around that a little rain in the forecast scared everyone.
I will see you soon, Capt.. Rob

SEA HUNTER 5-21 STRIPER REPORT. A BETTER DAY TODAY

I didn't give a fishing report yesterday because to be honest it didn't seem that important.  I will give you yesterday and todays now. Yesterday was slow on the bait we had a handful of fish with it including a 33lber .Late in the day the fish came up exploding in the bunker,  We managed to boat a couple of those but broke most of them off . Today was pretty good on the bait we had them coming pretty good for awhile. when we were alone. but of course being alone didn't last . Anyway the weather was great and we caught some nice size fish and a pair of 30 lb. stripers split the pool I hear maybe some showers for tomorrow but the fish don't care, they are already wet. We will be back out there tomorrow. Here are some pics from yesterdays  and todays trips
See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 5-20 SAD REPORT

First off I would like to inform all those who fish the Sea Hunter  that Matt passed away yesterday in the late afternoon. I am actually still in shock. Those of us who knew Matt loved him. He was a pleasure to be around always upbeat and would do anything for you.  He was a great young man, and my heart is truly broken. He will really be missed. My heart goes out to his family I really can't imagine what they are going through being a parent myself . May God bless him and his family.
There will be a service at Damiano Funeral home in Long Branch on Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. I will see some of you tomorrow, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 5-19 STRIPER REPORT !!

To say the least the weather was pretty lousy, but I was pleasantly surprised at the turnout of people on such a  day. I headed out today not knowing what to expect after not being out for a few days, but I had a hunch and knew where I was going to start my day. Well my hunch paid off, and may I say it's such a pleasure going out and not being surrounded  by boats who can't find their own fish. I'm sure after today's report tomorrow won't be like that. All I can say to those with their own boat who read my report you should watch Wicked Tuna season 7 and I believe it's episode 5 I feel those captain's pain.  There is a lot of water out there, use your fish finder, and I'm talking about your electronic one ( and not my boat). We made one drop today and picked away at keepers and shorts. Once the tide went slack around 12:30 the bite was over, but we had a good day and I think everyone was soaked and ready to go so we docked a little early. I'm sure everyone went and got a nice hot lunch. The pool winner was 19 lbs. We will be back at it tomorrow.
 See you soon, Capt. Rob.
PS It's getting close to the afternoon live lining trips for the big ones. I will keep you posted and let you know when the first one will be. Here is some of todays catch:
