SEA HUNTER 9-26 THE 2015 FLUKE SEASON IS OVER. NEXT WE WILL BE HUNTING STRIPERS!!!!!

The 2015 Fluke season ended on a low note. Hoping for a good last week to end the season, As the Fluke started to enter the Sandy hook and Ambrose channels feeding up and getting ready to head east for the winter. Unfortunately mother nature had a different plan. The east and north east winds kept us dockside a few days and the days we did get out we couldn't fish the channels. All in all it was not a great Fluke season this year. Now its time to turn our attention to the Stripers!!! First I will take a little vacation then catch up on some boat and house maintenance before going full steam into the Striper season. I will probably kick things off around October 9th or 10th and then we will be fishing daily from 7:30am till 2:30 pm for the Stripers. Don't forget we have a slot fish this fall we are allowed to keep a slot fish one Striper between 24 and 28 inches but you must have a bonus tag to keep this extra fish. Below is the website that you can get your bonus tag.
                                      http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/bonusbas.htm
So the Striper regulations are one fish between 28 and 43 inches and one fish 43 inches or bigger         and also a slot fish one fish between 24 and 28 inches but you must have the bonus tag in your possession to keep the slot fish. They are not sending them out very fast so don't delay order your now. We will be using different methods to catch the Stripers. Some days we use lures like diamond jigs and shads. Some days we use clams or eels as bait. Whatever it takes to put fish in the boat.
I will see you soon, Capt., Rob

SEA HUNTER FLUKE REPORT 9-18

Only one week left. Time is running out. The Fluke season closes next Saturday the 26th after midnight. We can fish for Fluke on Saturday the 26th.We are still catching some nice Fluke with a few shorts mixed in. We did have a man with his limit yesterday morning with fluke up to 5.8 lbs. That is  not easy to do on a half day trip Today's winner was 6.7 lbs. the best fishing has been in the channels as the Fluke are moving out. I keep hearing about lots of wind coming out of the North and the east starting Sunday afternoon I will keep my eye on it and if it doesn't look favorable I will post it so you don't come down for nothing. As of now it looks like Sunday afternoon, Monday  and Tuesday are not good but that could change. So check back or give me a call if you plan on coming down early in the week. Here are a few pics from yesterday and today..
          See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 9-15 FLUKE REPORT UPDATE

I usually post on Fridays but I had to post today as we saw a improvement in the fishing today. There was good action on both trips with some nice big keepers in the mix.It was a nice change considering the past couple weeks have not been up to par.  Mike Scheer AKA Pulpit Mike  landed his biggest fluke of his life a beauty weighing in at 9.8 lbs.Mike caught it on a 6 inch Pink Shine Gulp bait. Kenny Corona had 4 nice keepers for the day his biggest was just over 6 lbs. We only have 11 days till the Fluke season closes . The last day we are allowed to keep Fluke is Saturday Sept. 26th. So Now is the time to try and get yours before the season closes. The weather is fantastic and the crowds are very light and there are some nice fish around.. Here is some of today's catch.
Hopefully we will see you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 9-11 UPDATED FLUKE REPORT

We had a slow week, We have been searching everywhere in our range on the half day trips only to find slow fishing. We did find a nice bunch of keepers on Tuesday but that was our one good trip this week. We are finding some fish in different areas but its mostly short Fluke. If your looking to come out your chances of getting some short fluke is pretty good but the keepers are getting harder to find. And that's the way it really is. The fluke season officially closes on the 26th of September so we have two weeks left. Hopefully we get another good shot of fish before its over.
                                See you soon, Capt. Rob
