SEA HUNTER 4-28 FISHING REPORT

WOW!!!!!!!!! If you wanted action today was the day! There were no Stripers but big Blues galore. Only 8 people on the boat and Richie and myself  could barely keep up at times. We left the bite to look for the illusive Stripers but couldn't connect. We saw them being trolled again but they would not take the bait. Anyway it was a fun day with some great guys. We will be back at it tomorrow. Saturday we have a charter, so no open boat. Sunday we will be back on our regular schedule.I know lots of you are waiting for the Striper pics to show up.I am trying everything I can to catch the Stripers to get you Striper fanatics down believe me!  Its gonna happen and I will be there. If you want to bend the rods for now the Blues are good fun. I would like to get a few Stripers mixed in. Hopefully tomorrow.
See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 4-27 REPORT

Well we found some big Blues that wanted to eat today but could not get a Striper. Its been very frustrating watching the guys who are trolling catching Stripers in the same area we are fishing and we cant get them to eat. I went as far as getting live Bunker today and trying a couple drifts only to get Bluefish biting the baits in half. We did have one Striper follow the bunker to the boat but not take it. We ended up anchoring and catching some Blues but no Stripers. we will be out again tomorrow and see what happens.
See you then, Capt. Rob

I left the dock with high hopes today only to come home with my tail between my legs.We did lots of searching, even tried some old hot spots but no good. There are a few Blues around but the Stripers did not cooperate for anyone today. Looking at tomorrows forecast I will be taking the day off and try again on Wednesday.

SEA HUNTER BIG BASS FRIDAY 4-22 REPORT

Yesterday we had a descent day using bait but today it was jigs. What a nice sight seeing the big Stripers rolling all over the surface. The only bad thing was there weren't many people on board to enjoy it. We will be back at it tomorrow. See you then, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 4-19 STRIPER REPORT

Today was exactly like yesterday. One nice keeper early in the trip then that was it. The Stripers are around but by the way it looks they are spawning and not really interested in eating. Once they are done doing what they do, which should be soon,
the fishing will pick up.
                 See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 4-18 STRIPER REPORT

And no  Striper is not plural today. We had one nice fish early in the morning that went 21lbs and then it was dead. we made a few more drops on fish but they wouldn't bite. So far a very strange spring. Maybe a little NW wind will get them going tomorrow. I forgot camera on the boat but i will post the pic tomorrow.

SEA HUNTERS FIRST TRIP TODAY

It was a nice turnout for the first trip of the season we had some of our good regulars on board which was a good thing because if it was there first time fishing with us they were probably thinking this guy sucks. Anyway the fish finder had good marks but all we could get was one Striper. The boats that were trolling in the area were picking right away at the Stripers. From what I heard from the rest Party boat fleet it was a overall condition today and we got lucky catching the one. We tried bait we tried jigging we tried anchoring and we tried drifting I did all I could do, but I could not make them bite
. The fish are there for sure they just gotta turn on. The one we did catch was on a shad while drifting. Tomorrow is a new day and we will be back at it. The weather looks good for the weekend and you wont stand a chance of catching one if you are home on the couch.
See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER FIRST TRIP FRIDAY APRIL 15th

We have our first trip of the season going out tomorrow for Stripers. We will leave the dock at 7:30 I had to show you some pics of a wooden model that a great craftsmen named  Rich Sloane built for me over the winter. It took him 248 hours to build. It has everything from working doors to outside deck light. The inside is also done exactly as it is on board . It is a real work of art!
That is the master craftsmen  Rich

SEA HUNTER STARTING FRIDAY 4-15

We will officially be starting our spring striper fishing on Friday April 15th. We will then be fishing everyday 7 days a week. Be prepared for jigging or bait fishing whatever it takes to bend the rods.We will have all the tackle you need on the boat if you don't have it. I would recommend you bring a spinning reel if you have a hard time casting a conventional reel. 20 to 30 lb test is fine on the reel. Make sure you check your line after the winter don't be afraid to put new line on. There is nothing worse then hooking up with a nice Striper and having your line snap because it was old .
I'm Looking forward to getting started. I have been hearing good things about the fishing and it looks like the weather is going to start getting nicer.
See you very soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 4-7 SCHEDULE UPDATE

As i guess you noticed the weather is not cooperating. Will the wind ever stop blowing? The boat is ready the crew and myself are ready. I was going to start this weekend but between the wind and the rain we are not having any luck. The fish are starting to show Ive heard a couple good reports from reliable sources., It sounds like everything is being caught trolling or drifting shads which is unusual for this time of year. Tomorrow looks like a pretty good west wind and thats gonna make the bay pretty snotty. With that said we will postpone our starting date . I will see what happens later in the week maybe we can get started then.
Thanks for checking in, Capt. Rob
