SEA HUNTER 4-30 STRIPER REPORT

Today was the way it should be. We had good marks on the machine we stropped the boat and caught fish. We had a nice morning bite till the current slowed up with shorts and some nice keepers. Once that died we made a move and once the current started moving the bite was on again. One thing I would like to point out when you come on board with your own tackle make sure you check your line if its old or brittle and has a few kinks spend the money and put some new line on. if your not sure then change it. Also if your gonna tie your own hooks and leaders make make sure the knot is tied correctly. If your not sure ask one of the deckhands to take a look they will set you up correctly. They will also check your drag and once they set it DON'T TOUCH IT!! We lost some big fish today for all the reasons I just mentioned. Whatever we do is for a reason. We want you to catch fish. Hopefully tomorrow we can repeat today without losing the big ones. We left them biting today. The pool winner went around 25 lbs. Here is some of the catch. Some guys didn't want to be photographed.
                               See you tomorrow, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 4-27 REPORT

What a surprise today was, I headed back to yesterday morning area and had incredible marks on the machine, We anchored up. I put my boots on rite away figuring it was gonna get messy. We waited for the mayhem to begin and we waited and waited and nothing happened. I pulled anchor and went looking I stopped on a small mark and we caught a few shorts then the current stopped and so did the fish. To make a long story short there were plenty of fish around according to the fish finder, but we couldn't get a bite going. I heard many boats complaining about the same thing. We had a slow pick on one drop but only shorts were coming up. We did have a few fish on and guys came back with no hooks, Bluefish, I'm not sure but one thing is for sure one of them was a big one. Its a little early for the Blues but who knows we didn't see them. We will see what tomorrow brings.

SEA HUNTER 4-26 STRIPER REPORT

Started heading to the area we were yesterday but as I looked in that area it was mobbed with boats there was no sense in even trying to find a spot.  I looked in a different area and found some good marks on the machine  we started picking some fish and before you knew it the boats started coming in our direction.I guess nobody uses the fish finder on the small boats they just run in full bore and  anchor the boat next to you or run up and drift through the slick. You would think after all these years I would be used to it but when it kills the bite it  annoys me. We had a nice pick going with shorts and keepers then around 11:00 that was it we couldn't get another bite there. We made a few moves but just saw a handful of shorts. We will be back at it tomorrow.

SEA HUNTER 4-25 STRIPER REPORT

Things are looking up! We had a some nicer fish today along with the shorts. We had lousy conditions today but we still picked away at the shorts with some bigger keepers mixed in.The pool winner went 19.2 lbs ans was caught by Bobby Kulig from South Plainfield NJ. The second biggest was 19 lbs. The marks on the machine today were excellent there are plenty of Stripers around in different areas. We definitely didn't catch as good as the marks were showing, The way the machine looked I thought it was going to be a slaughter, but the fish are here for sure!
Hopefully see you tomorrow, Capt. Rob
