SEA HUNTER 11-1 STRIPER REPORT

Lots of wind in the morning and the ocean was nasty. I got a call from a buddy who told me there was bird life in the bay. And he wasn't kidding. Made our first stop and pulled a nice keeper and some 24 to 26 inch Stripers. Nobody on the boat had a bonus tag. We hit many different areas of birds but most of the fish were just under 28inches, It wasn't easy as the boat traffic was terrible. Once I started running towards a area of birds the small boats would attack, It was a little frustrating but the weekends could be like that especially on a day like today because nobody was in the ocean.  We did get some over 28 inches but not nearly enough. I have been preaching to everyone who reads my report to get a bonus tag. It only costs you the price of a stamp and it could be the difference between a good day and a bad day. After the birds and fish diapered I went to the area that has been producing for us the past few afternoons. The Blues took over that spot and we couldn't produce any more Stripers. When you come down try and bring a spinning reel if you have a hard time casting a conventional reel. We did catch a few fish straight up and down but more were caught by the people who could cast away from the boat. The rubber shads also worked best today. We will see what tomorrow brings.
