SEA HUNTER 10-16 REPORT

I was happy to get out today. Still not many people down between the Striper and porgy boats as both fisheries have been slow. Anyway I left the dock today feeling good after the reports I had gotten yesterday I thought today could be the day we get this fall Striper season kick started. As we got near the grounds we could see lots of Bunker but unfortunately there were also lots of boats. Word travels fast now in the modern age of the internet. We started throwing jigs and shads and snagging and live lining bunker, on occasion you would see the pods of bunker explode as Stripers were attacking them.We could not catch one. A couple guys said they had the baits picked up and had a little run but couldn't hook them. I saw only one fish caught while I was there, I was told that at first light there were some fish caught but that was pretty much it. I hung in there hoping as the boats thinned out and the tide changed we would get a shot of fish, but it was not to be.  I headed back to the channel and tried some eels but we only caught one Striper and it was 23 inches long.
See what happens tomorrow. Capt. Rob
