SEA HUNTER 5-21 STRIPER REPORT

Sorry for the late report but Capt. Howard ran the boat on Sunday. I  was up in Rochester, NY at my daughters college graduation .She received her degree in Biomedical Engineering, and I am proud of her for sure. One thing is certain she did not get her smarts from me. Anyway as you know how the old story goes, you should have been here yesterday. The internet is great for getting out info, but its also a double edged sword  for the fishing business,  I get hundreds of hits a day on my fishing reports and they are not all from my customers. People with there own boats big and small read my report, and yesterday Howard said there were a ton of boats around him. Howard said he had to leave the area because of the boat traffic and as nothing was happening. Boat traffic kills the Striper fishing. After he made a few moves and then finally at the end of the day he caught some stripers. It wasn't good, but some shorts and a handful of keepers were caught, and we did not get out today only one guy showed up. We will be going tomorrow and I am going to finish out the week with the Stripers even with Fluke season opening on Thursday. I will probably go for Fluke over the weekend. Two trips; 8am till 12:30pm and 1:30pm till 6pm. I am not sure if I will start fishing for Fluke daily after Sunday I will play that by ear and let you know at the end of this week. See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 5-19 REPORT

The day started out OK with the Stripers but then went down hill. we caught about a dozen and lost a couple but only 4 keepers. We went on the hunt and found some good readings on the fish finder but the conditions were horrible. We boated a few big blue and lost a few. we made a few more moves but it was not meant to be . Tomorrow a little change in weather hopefully they will turn on. We will certainly do our best. See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER STRIPER AND BLUEFISH REPORT

A better day today. It started out a slow pick on Stripers, keepers and shorts. When that died I went looking for the greener pastures again. I found them today but they were Blue pastures. We ended up with a nice catch of  the big slammer blues for the last few hours. we will see what tomorrow brings. See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 5-17 REPORT

The only good thing about today was the weather and the nice people on the boat. We started out where we were yesterday. we anchored up and caught two shorts pretty quick. It took about ten more minutes and we had another one on. We had it about twenty feet from the boat it came to the top and spit the hook. The next two were lost due to customers line breaking as they set the hook. You guys must check your line if its old and your not sure of it, put new line on. Also you cant have your drag to tight. Anyway  that was it no more bites. We left the area and found some blues. I wasn't happy with what i saw so I went in search of greener pastures, Unfortunately all I found was mud. We will be back out there tomorrow. See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 5-16 STRIPER REPORT

I was pleasantly surprised today! After all the rain and wind the past few days and the color of the water on the way out. I thought we may be in trouble. We ended up picking most of the day with short and keeper Stripers and even had three jumbo flounder to top things off. Like I always say, You never know. We go out everyday and try our best. We will be back out there again tomorrow and see what happens. Here are some pics
Thanks for checking in and see you soon,Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 5-10 STRIPER REPORT

Its been one of those springs so far you never know what to expect.I know you guys are reading these reports every day waiting for the Striper Blitz. You cant wait and watch you just gotta go and hope for the best.A nice day like yesterday and we had three people. and only half the boats made it out. After catching mostly blues the past few trips with a odd Striper. I decided to try something different today . We had a slow start I was almost ready to leave the area but I had some patience and it paid off. We ended up with a nice catch of Stripers .It was good action with the shorts  24 to 27 inches. But we ended up with everyone taking home a keeper the biggest being 41 inches. Like I always say you never know, you can read the report or be the report. We will try it again tomorrow. See you then, Capt. Rob
