As far as the Striped Bass fishing is concerned, the asmfc is trying to cut back on the amount of Stripers we can take in the 2015 season. They are trying to take away from a fishery that you are only allowed to keep two fish. When will it end? There are a few different proposals that they have come up with to try and cut the landings by at least 25%. As you know they have us by the you know whats.A couple proposals are one fish per person but they do have some with two fish. Most of the party and charter boats got together the other day from our area and as far south as Barnaget light to discuss our options, and we feel there is no reason to change the laws but it looks like that is not a option. We all decided that proposal B7 was the best for everyone and that was 1fish between 28 and 34 inches and 1 fish 36 inches or bigger. It still gives you a chance to bring home 2 fish and not throw back a trophy size Striper if you catch one. Its all a bunch of BS as I'm sure you know. Anyway I could go on and on about about how these people have no idea whats going. Anyway you can help by sending a e mail to m.waine@asmfc.org and in subject put Draft Addendum IV and just type in B7 but after that put status quo, you don't have to write a letter unless you want. I put in a very long letter that probably wont get read but I put B7 first and keep status quo so at least he sees that. If you would like you can check out the proposals by going to www.asmfc.org and look on the right hand side at BREAKING NEWS and scroll down to Striped Bass draft and addendum IV if you don't want to read all the BS just go to pg 14 and that shows you the options. This must be sent in by Sept. 30th by 5:00. Hopefully you e mail and everyone else s will help us all.
Thanks , Capt. Rob
