SEA HUNTER 11-11 STRIPER REPORT

Started out like gangbusters today. Birds and fish everywhere good marks on the finder and a excellent first drift.  After the tide changed they stopped eating ferociously and were harder to catch.  We did have a couple good shots of fish on good marks off the fish finder but then were surrounded by boats trolling and jigging and that slowed us down. We did get tangled up on four different occasions with other boats. I don't think there are many guys with their own boats who know how to use a fish finder they just follow the party boats.( Its funny but its not, it does get aggravating) It looks like a new body of fish are moving in our area to combine with the fish that have been there. We had many fish today that were 26 to 27.5 inches that we had to throw back. One thing is to catch these fish you can't just bounce the bottom with the jig all the time. Some days that's all you have to do but lately most of these fish are caught reeling fast and are off the bottom. There is a knack to it, sometimes a super fast retrieve and sometimes you must slow it down a little. Try different approaches and listen to the crew and watch the people who always seem to be hooked up. Don't be shy ask us or even the people who are catching for help or advice. We want you to catch fish. We carry a nice bunch of knowledgeable regulars who love fishing and are good at it and would be happy to give you pointers. It sure looks like its going to be a good fall run with the Stripers. Here is some of todays catch.  See you soon, Capt. Rob
