SEA HUNTER 10-31 STRIPER REPORT

Not a bad day today. We worked the same area as yesterday except the Stripers were a little finicky today. Yesterday I was stopping on small marks on the fish finder and catching better then I did today on bigger marks. Two times they were so stacked up I thought everyone would be hooked up, but you would only catch a couple. Yesterday we had better action with the shorts, but today we had more keepers  and a few bigger fish and most of the shorts we did get today were around 27 inches. John Ahlbeck from Short Hills took the pool with a 24 lber. All the fish were caught on jigs. We will not be fishing tomorrow Friday November 1st as the weather forecast is for very windy conditions and rain. We will resume fishing on Saturday Nov. 2nd.  Here are a few pics from today and some of the catch.  See you on Saturday, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 10-30 STRIPER REPORT

We got a little lucky again today. I decided to stay local today. We had a little bird life around today but I mostly just worked the fish finder today. There were no big schools of fish but we just stopped on small marks on the finder in different areas and caught some Stripers. The Stripers were mostly in the 24 inch range but we did manage some keepers and a few guys had the limit. Doug heath from Middletown was out yesterday and today and had his limit both days. but today he took the pool money with a 16 lber. We will try and do it again tomorrow. Fridays weather doesn't look good so if you were thinking of coming down Friday you may want to think that over. It is suppose to be very windy with gusts to 35 and rainy. See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 10-29 STRIPER REPORT

We are still struggling, but a little improvement today over the past couple of days. I Took a ride today to check out some new areas but it was the same old stuff. We saw plenty of birds working on bait with not much under them except some tiny snapper blues and maybe some weakfish.
I Headed back to the normal stomping grounds and we picked at shorts(good size shorts between 22 and 26 inches) and we managed four nice keepers. Everything looks good there is plenty of bait around all over the place. The water temperature is cool. Its just a matter of time. When I don't know (I hope tomorrow!) I will keep you posted.
            See you soon, Capt. Rob

SEA HUNTER 10-26 STRIPERS

A better day today. From the reports I heard around the fleet today we were the lucky ones. Plenty of birds life around again today but the fish were hard to catch. As I was heading to another area of bird life I ran over a good mark on the fish finder and stopped and it was a nice bunch of hungry Stripers. The bite didn't last long but it was good fishing. A good amount of keepers and shorts mixed. After yesterdays trip I needed this today.

SEA HUNTER 10-25 REPORT

Not a good day today. Plenty of bird life close to home but not many fish in them mostly just working on loads of bait. Took a trip to the south toward the Shrewsbury rocks saw plenty of birds but no fish as I was getting closer to my destination I saw boats heading towards me and was told don't bother to go further. From all the reports I was getting it sounded like it wasn't good anywhere so I decided to head off to a area we had some good action with the big blues but there was nothing there today. As I was heading back to the north I had a coast guard cutter barreling down on me. I was off the beach about three and a half miles, and I knew he wanted to see if I had any Stripers on board.( You are not suppose to fish or poses Stripers more then three miles out) anyway they hailed me on the radio and sent out a boarding party to get on the boat. You would have thought I was smuggling drugs or doing terrorist activities, This is our Homeland security and they are worried about possessing Stripers past three miles. What a joke! To make a long aggravating story short they checked coolers and went through the boat and didn't find any Stripers, We headed back to the north and found some birds and caught a few shorts and Blues. We only had three keeper Stripers for the day. Hopefully tomorrow we will have a more enjoyable day.

SEA HUNTER 10-24 REPORT

Not enough people yesterday to get out but we made it out today. There was birds working on bait all over the place today we did some fish splashing but most stops didn't produce. We did get lucky on a few stops and caught a few Stripers but the way it looked I thought it would have been better.
